It's because it has Chris Colfer in the main role, and if that is not enough, you should also know that it was also written by him, all of it.
I thought it was a clever comedy-drama with lots of comedy and lots of drama. Just kidding!!! But it was really a good experience. It has lot of jokes and criticisms about today's society especially related to life as a teenager in high schools very well represented by Chris Colfer and Rebel Wilson. And, on the other hand with a lot of drama in Carson Phillips personal life with his divorced parents, grandma with Alzheimer and alcoholic-sad-lonely-addicted to antidepressants mother, in which Allison Jenney did a great job.A film to make us think that high school can be a nightmare for some people and also about living present life without anger and disappointment, because then it can be too lateand you can be... STRUCK BY LIGHTENING.
